A few months ago I had a fellow photographer friend come into town for a Houston Astros home game. Mary is an individual with striking characteristics. I knew I wanted to photograph her from the day we met. I asked Mary if she would be open to the idea of a black and white studio portrait session. She agreed and after a brief discussion about the session, we had a creative pass for our black and white studio session. As full time photographers we rarely have the opportunity to photograph for ourselves. As photographic artist we must find ways to manage our time in order to continue to grow as artists. The purpose of this session was to utilize a lighting technique that is out of my normal lighting style. Since Mary is also a photographer, dramatic lighting played a major role in creating mood and drama in the final image. Mary, Thank you for your time.
